On Thursday 19th of December, the **FIFTH LINGUISTICS TRIVIA NIGHT** will be hosted by Katie and Rosey (from the University of Melbourne), as an end-of-year get-together! Don't worry – we won't be asking you to produce the long-lost Indo-European laryngeal consonants, or to locate the language acquisition device, but we will put together some fun questions and puzzles that are broadly language-themed. Language enthusiasts in the Melbourne area are all welcome!

Trivia will be at The Clyde Hotel, beginning at 7pm, but we suggest you arrive a bit before if you want to grab a bite to eat. Food and drink are available at reasonable prices (see menu online).

There is no cost to participate, but there will be a donation box, and any contributions will go towards helping an Indigenous language activist/linguist/teacher to attend a conference or training event. This will be managed by the Living Languages team. Previous trivia fundraising efforts led to Zoom recorders to support work on the Ngarrindjeri, Wonnarua and Jandai languages, helped Living Languages assemble Master-Apprentice Kits for use by people at the Far West Language Centre and the Kimberley Language Resource Centre, and helped Indigenous participants attend the Paper & Talk workshops at AIATSIS. Living Languages has Deductible Gift Recipient status, so donations over $2 are tax deductible.

We'd like to get an idea of numbers in advance, so please RSVP here by Friday 13th of December if you'd like to attend.
