In late September, Living Languages partnered up with First Languages Australia (FLA) to pilot and provide a series of six online training sessions to some of the young language workers and teachers that are part of our programs.

Recently Trainer Andrew Tanner has been working with Gangulu men Thomas Watson and Murrie Kemp on coming to grips with linguistics materials published on their language - from Queensland - and beginning work on a Learner’s Guide. Despite all three of them living in Melbourne, until recently it has actually been impossible to meet up in person due to the lockdown, so they’ve been running the sessions regularly on Zoom.

For 2019's PD Workshop, we targeted youth doing any type of language work, from around the country, aged 18-30. Participants came from various places and language groups from around Australia, to participate in a 4-day workshop in Melbourne.
